Ugly Christmas Jumpers

This party theme is an all-time favourite! Nothing takes you back in time quite like an ugly Christmas jumper party. Girls can wear their hair extra big and guys can wear big-framed glasses to add to the nostalgia. Your guests will have the perfect excuse to dust off their grandfather’s old cable knit- the uglier the better!

White Christmas

If you’re dreaming of a white Christmas this year, why not make it happen! Decorating for this themed party will be fairly simple as everything should be sparkly and white. Hang some white snowflakes over the appetizer table or spray paint pine cones or twigs to “frost” them. You could even encourage your guests to wear all white!

Christmas Pajamas

Who doesn’t like to party in their pajamas? Hosting a Christmas pajama party will be both fun and relaxed. Letting your guests wear their cozy pajamas will also keep everyone nice and warm! A hot chocolate bar complete with marshmallows, candy canes, and chocolate drizzle sauce would complement this theme nicely.

“Frozen” Winter Wonderland

Inspired by the movie Frozen, your winter wonderland party colors should be white, frosty blue and silver. Create snow garlands by stringing cotton balls and hanging them from your ceiling. Finish this party off with snowball punch or other Christmas-inspired cocktails.

Christmas Cookie Exchange

For those who love to bake (and indulge in delicious baked yumminess), cookie exchange parties might be something to try. Each of your guests is required to bring at least one batch of cookies and they can use any recipe of their choice. To avoid duplicate batches, have your guests tell you what they will be bringing when they RSVP.

Secret Santa

Secret Santa’s are a fun way for groups to give gifts to each other throughout the Christmas season. Draw names at the beginning of December and every week leading up to the big reveal party, participants will give a gift to the person whose name they drew. At your party, your guests will exchange their last gifts and it will be revealed who everyone’s Secret Santa was!

Christmas Masquerade

Masquerade theming can be used almost all year ‘round, and the Holiday season is no exception! Decorate your space with feathers, candles and lace in a color scheme that fits with the Christmas theme. Your guests can wear masquerade masks to add to the festive atmosphere. You can even order masquerade themed sugar cookies and cupcakes that match the colors and theme.

Martinis and Mistletoes

This theme gets straight to the point and is ideal for those who want to host a party with more of a cocktail feel. Be sure to place mistletoes throughout your space and decorate your walls with Christmas lights to really set the mood. Set up a Martini bar with a variety of liqueurs, juices and garnishes and set your playlist to Billie Holiday.

Christmas Cinema

Christmas cinema nights are great for more intimate gatherings with close friends and family. Select two to three films you’d like to watch that have story lines about Christmas – A Christmas Story, White Christmas and It’s a Wonderful Life are great options! Have Christmas-themed snacks like mince pies, chocolate yule log and sweets set out for your guests to enjoy.

Christmas Themed Photo Booth

No Christmas party is complete without a photo booth to capture all the memories. You don’t need to spend lots of money on props and cameras. You can have a winter-themed backdrop created or rent a portable photo booth. Be sure to have Christmas-themed props such as Santa hats and reindeer antlers ready for your guests to use in their photos.
