The evening event began with a drinks reception for over 300 guests, featuring entertainment by the Guildhall Jazz Trio. Guests were then invited to move into the regal event space, where they were welcomed by CEDIA’s Chairman.
A three course dinner by Create Food & Party Design made the most of stunning summer flavours, starting with Smoked Rainbow Trout, before a main course of Pan-Fried Guinea Fowl stuffed with Sun Dried Tomatoes, Fresh Summer Herbs and English Mascarpone.
As guests tucked into dessert, an indulgent Chocolate Brownie Cheesecake served with Fresh Strawberry Salsa, they were entertained with a raffle, held on behalf of Macmillan Cancer Support. This, in addition to £5 from the sale of every ticket, enabled the event to raise over £4,000 for the charity.
As dinner drew to a close it was time to begin the awards ceremony, with each category being judged by an expert panel drawn from the worlds of architecture, interiors, property, IT, smart home journalism and custom installation.
Sponsored by AMX, Control 4, Crestron, Kaleidescape and Rako the awards saw winners ranging from an innovative media room in Pakistan, sensitively converted into an ‘invisible’ multi-purpose living area with electrifying sound quality, to a truly extraordinary eco home in Yorkshire, fully integrated with photovoltaics and rainwater harvesting.
