We’ve searched far and wide for the finest new openings in London this summer. July’s restaurant list includes everything from gourmet street food to indulgent fine dining, and they all come highly recommended by the Ultimate Experience team.

Souvlaki is a Greek favourite; this new Athenian grill will focus on the grilled meat dish, which is served on skewers or as a wrap.

Ever-popular tapas spot Barrafina opens its third restaurant this July. Head to Drury Lane for the finest tapas in town.

 

 

CAFÉ MURANO COVENT GARDEN, 34-36 TAVISTOCK STREET, LONDON WC2

This is second of Angela Hartnett’s Cafe Muranos and there will be many new dishes on the menu too – as well as a shop selling fresh pastas and sauces.

 

OLDROYD, 344 UPPER STREET, ISLINGTON, LONDON N1

So far Tom Oldroyd has been best known for having a hand in most of the Polpo launches but this summer sees him launch his own neighbourhood restaurant in Islington. There’ll be a walk-in cafe downstairs and a bistro upstairs.

The latest restaurant from Soho House, which also runs Chicken Shop and Dirty Burger, is meatball restaurant Balls and Company. They won’t be anything like the IKEA speciality!

The original Salvation in Noodles is one of our favourite spots in Dalston. Now they’ve opened a second restaurant in nearby Finsbury Park, serving brand new dishes and cocktails too.

Three Michelin starred restaurant DiverXo is a favourite in Madrid; now chef David Muñoz has brought his Spanish street food menu to Mayfair.

 

 

GRANGER & CO, 7 PANCRAS SQUARE, N1

A branch of Aussie chef Bill Granger’s Granger & Co (grangerandco.com) has opened in King’s Cross. Bill Granger says: “Kings Cross is the most connected place in London, and is set up for ideas – Central St Martins, The Francis Crick Institute and Google are just a few of our neighbours. It’s a new creative hub in the most creative city of the world and I’m thrilled at the prospect of being part of it.”

James Ramsden and Sam Herlihy used to run supper club The Secret Larder. Now they’re opening a brand new restaurant in Hackney: Pidgin.

From the same people who launched Manuka Kitchen, this 50-seater restaurant will open in mid July, serving a menu that will “concentrate on British ingredients with occasional forays into Europe and Australasia.”

Social Wine & Tapas is Jason Atherton’s latest restaurant, bar and wine shop on James Street, Marylebone. Executive sommelier Laure Patry has created a dynamic wine list offering quality, rare and fine wines sourced from around the world, alongside modern tapas and snacks from head chef Frankie Van Loo.
