Every venue has a unique atmosphere. This is why it’s pivotal that you select the right facility for your next award ceremony.

Everything from the capacity to the ambiance will strongly influence the attendees’ perception of the event. The best venues for awards ceremonies have a certain vibe that makes them perfect for honouring and presenting members with the recognition they deserve.

Here are seven venues for awards ceremonies in London that our team frequently works with and list as their personal favourites for hosting prestigious events.

1. The Pavilion at the Tower of London

With a capacity of 300 to 600 guests for a seated dinner and up to 1,200 for a standing reception, the Pavilion at the Tower of London provides the perfect backdrop for lavish events.

The outdoor area is simply breathtaking, and the interior has plenty of spacing that can be used strategically for branding purposes.

2. Old Billingsgate

Old Billingsgate can accommodate up to 2,400 guests for a reception and up to 1,500 for dinner. With its lavish and high-end architecture, it’s hard to imagine that this venue was once the world’s biggest fish market in the mid-1800s.

Today, it stands as one of the most sought-after venues for awards ceremonies in London. The venue is especially noted for its private Riverside Terrace, which provides a magnificent view of the Tower Bridge.

The fact that the facility is also located within sight of London Bridge doesn’t hurt either. In addition, the main hall provides ample spacing and can be divided into multiple staging or reception areas.

3. OXO2

OXO2 is perfect for a small to medium-sized reception of 100-400 guests. The venue is located right along the River Thames. The venue has a certain ambiance that is equally welcoming as it is impressive.

The facility contains two gallery-style rooms that can accommodate up to 100 guests each. This makes it perfect for hosting smaller meetings and/or private inductions.

Guests are treated to a panoramic view of the river. The tower itself also has plenty to offer. It underwent a major renovation starting in the 1980s. By the early 1990s, the facility was updated and transformed into a commercial center. The makeover received various architectural accolades.

4. The Mermaid

The Mermaid has a 200 – 500 capacity limit for receptions. Multiple features make this among the top venues for awards ceremonies. This includes two levels of space and separate rooms that can be used together or independently.

The Mermaid is divided into three sections. There is an auditorium, perfect for awards, lectures and presentations. There are also the River Rooms with an unobstructed view of the London skyline. This is an area ideal for hosting private lunches, dinners, and meetings.

Finally, there is the Queenhithe, composed of a dance floor and perfect for hosting a dance off or after-party for VIP members and staffers that made the event possible.

5. Winchester House

With a standing capacity of 150, Winchester House provides an elegant charm, ideal for small private ceremonies. The venue comes complete with a private lawn and garden that makes for a wonderful outdoor gala, preceeding a formal award presentation. The outdoor area has also been used on numerous occasions for golf and cricket teams for hosting private games.

The smaller facility makes this among the top venues for awards ceremonies, especially those exclusive to members and immediate family. The house was built in the 17th-century; it has that old-style feel that the old and young alike will find absolutely charming.

6. Austin Friars

Austin Friars is listed as a Grade II facility with a 60 – 250 occupant capacity. The location offers plenty to boast about, within a stone’s throw of prominent sites like Bank Station, Moorgate and Liverpool Street.

With its high ceiling, ornate stained glass windows and contemporary architecture, Austin Friars perfectly blends old-style with modern designs. The former still contains hints of the original style dating back from the structure’s original construction in 1253.

The building also underwent a major reconstruction in the 1950s and architectural elements from that era are apparent as well.

7. Tatton Park

Tatton Park

Tatton Park is one of the top venues for awards ceremonies in London, especially events held during the holiday season. The outdoor area can accommodate as many as 1500 guests.

The venue consists of 1,000 acres of free-roaming space where deer and other wildlife inhabitants can be spotted skirting about. Despite the primarily outdoor setting, the venue has event organizers covered when it comes to equipment and technical setup.

The park is located right in the heart of Cheshire’s countryside and within driving distance of Manchester. With rental of the venue also comes various optional perks, such as catering, interactive photo booths and much more to delight attendees.
